Zombie Jesus Nativity Scene Leaves God 'Frowning'

God is “frowning” on a nativity scene in Cincinnati, Ohio, according to Christian protesters flustered at the contents of an unusual festive display. Jasen Dixon, the manager of the local “13 Rooms of Doom,” created a life-sized zombie nativity scene replete with undead baby Jesus nestled in a hay trough, serenaded by a ghostly cover of 'Silent Night.'

According to 'The New York Times,' this is the second year Dixon has presented Christ’s birth as a vignette of the living dead. Last year he was ordered to take it down. This year he applied for a permit, only to be refused as it contravened a local zoning laws. Undeterred, Dixon built it anyway, risking a $500 a day fine from Sycamore town officials, as well as stirring the ire of the local faithful.

Writing on his Facebook page on Friday, Dixon said: “We were going to take it down, decided to leave it up, all the lights are re-hooked and open for business just no roof. Let’s see what happens.” Speaking to a local TV news channel over the weekend, Dixon explained: “I got all the paperwork and how it was wrote out, and it says as long as it’s not over 200-square foot that I can have it without a permit, and it’s about 65-square foot."

When asked what exactly local authorities might not like about a life-sized display featuring a cross-legged, razor-toothed zombie Jesus surrounded by undead wise men bent on flesh, Dixon said: “I think it’s the theme. It just rubs people the wrong way. That’s why they’re coming down so hard on me.”

The owner, who is currently asking for donations to help cover the costs of any fines, insists his neighbours are fine with the scene. God, however, is perturbed, his followers protesting the Yuletide exhibit by handing out pamphlets.

“GOD FROWNS UPON THIS MANGER SCENE,” the literature screamed, noting: "Jesus has supreme power over death and evil; he is not a zombie.”

Christ did, however, rise from the dead… so prepare for the apocalypse.

A Few Surprising Foods That Actually Have More Sugar Than A Krispy Kreme Donut

The phrase "sugary foods" probably brings a few things to mind: junk food, chocolate bars, donuts, and soft drinks. What you probably don't think of are snacks that are generally accepted as "healthy" alternatives. Take Part wanted to illustrate just how sugary some normal foods are, so they compared their sugar content to that of a Krispy Kreme donut. The results were pretty shocking. I'm going to start eating grilled cheese and donuts. Take Part Using this dressing on salads seems like a terrible idea. Take Part I guess no one thought Fruit Loops were a good idea. Take Part...

If You Want To Spend Hundreds On A Gift That'll Ruin Your Child's Life, This Is It

If you ask thousands of teens around the world, YAL (or young-adult literature, for those of you who aren't in the know) is where it's at. One of the biggest YAL successes of all time is the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer, which has inspired crazy amounts of art and (deeply disturbing) fanfiction in the years since its publication. But this Twilight-inspired endeavor probably isn't what Meyer had in mind when she sent her famous story out into the world -- especially because someone out there will probably give one of these as a gift to their unsuspecting child this holiday...

Storm Desmond's Destruction Captured In Astonishing Aerial Footage Of Carlisle

The devastation left in the wake of Storm Desmond has been captured in an astonishing set of aerial footage.

The drone footage, from Helipromo, reveals the waterlogged countryside around Carlisle, including fields, schools, homes and the town’s civic centre.

The video was released to help raise funds for those affected by the floods.

The country has been badly hit by the storm, which has left at least one person dead.

An underwater search team is recovering a body found in Kendal in Cumbria after reports that an elderly man had fallen into the River Kent on Sunday morning, the Press Association reported.

More than 2,000 homes and businesses in the county were flooded and almost 60,000 homes were left without power throughout Sunday as the floods damaged substations and caused electrical faults.

Electricity North West said about 2,600 properties in Cumbria remained without power on Monday morning because of 11 separate faults caused by flooding.

In Carlisle, the Army was sent to help support emergency services evacuating people from their homes in streets where cars were almost entirely submerged.

Cumbria County Council leader Stewart Young has called for an investigation into the county's flood defences after £45 million was invested since catastrophic floods in 2005.

He told the BBC Radio 4 Today programme: "I will be talking to our local MPs later today and if the Environment Agency needs to revisit them then that's what's going to have to happen, because we can't continue to have events like this in Cumbria, we just won't be able to cope."

Around 40 schools remained closed, while the disruption led to the cancellation of appointments and routine business across NHS hospitals and services.

Environment Secretary Liz Truss will set out more details of the response from the government, which has already committed to a £2.3 billion programme of flood defences over six years, in a statement to the House of Commons on Monday afternoon.

The government has also said that it will look again" at flood defences following the devastation caused by Storm Desmond as thousands of homes were damaged and a body was discovered in a swollen river.

David Cameron visited Carlisle where he met with a resident whose home was devastated by the flooding, as well as thanking the emergency services for their hard work.

Man Who Tries To Return Woman's Cash Is Reportedly Told: 'I'm Not Into Black Boys'

A Good Samaritan who tried to return a stranger's money she had dropped on the floor was reportedly told: "Sorry – I'm not into black boys."

Joe Christie said he was going to buy some food when he saw £10 fall from a woman's pocket on Streatham High Road on Saturday.

He said that after he saw the money fall from the woman's pocket, he ran up to her holding the note and she cut him off with the "racist" comment.

Christie said that he chased after the woman, shouting to her "excuse me". Before he could say anything else, she responded: "Sorry, I'm not into black boys", and walked off.

He said that he did not make a scene, but went to buy some food instead.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, the aspiring singer said: "It's not the worst she could have said in terms of the racist aspect of it, adding: "But it was disappointing, because in this day and age you wouldn't expect it in London. She could have just said 'I'm in a hurry'.

"She was flattering herself to say the least, though. She wasn't a hottie, put it that way."
